Our history

How Mellow became Mellow

When two experts in premium fresh desserts join forces, they create... Mellow! The fruit of a shared passion.

2007

Michel Dryon creates Dessert Factory.

2009

First expansion.

2010

Antoon Verschelden and Johan Bauwens create Verbau.

2013

First delivery to the United States.

2015

Second expansion. Introduction of cheesecakes.

2017

Internalisation of biscuits and fruit jam.

2020

Launch of Mondelez products.

2021

Purchase of the Estrées site, France.

2022

Merger of Dessert Factory and Verbau shareholders. Creation of the holding company Sweetco.

2023

Decision to consolidate the two companies. Sébastien Dryon appointed Group CEO.

2024

Creation of Mellow.

Around a hundred colleagues are hard at work every day producing cheesecakes and soft bakes at Dessert Factory's historic 8,000 sqm site.

Our Leuze site

Leuze is the historic home of Verbau. Spanning nearly 10,000 sqm, the site employs more than 80 people creating our multi-layered desserts and mousses.

Our Estrées site

A new arrival in 2022, the Estrées site spans over 11,000 sqm. A team of around fifty people work there, preparing a variety of baked desserts. It's also the logistics centre.
